Chris Danican has been on and around the sea all his life. Born in Jersey Channel Island, moving to England at the age of 7, he has always been involved in boating. Everything from canoes to tank landing craft and frigates, the bulk of his experience in power boats ranging from 3m to 10m and multi-engines. Holding Commercially endorsed RYA Advanced Powerboat certificates, Power boat Level II and Safety Boat Instructor and Marine Radio SRC Assessor qualifications he now specialises in powerboat training, coastal pleasure trips, deliveries, and safety cover for local sailing/Yacht Clubs and RYA training centres around the coast. Chris is also a part time skipper for Dover Sea Safari
Having been a regular helm at the RYA Sail for Gold events in the run up to the Olympics in Weymouth, KSSA event in Whitstable, Ramsgate and Sandwich, NSSA annual regatta 2012 at the National Sailing Centre in Portland and 2014 at Downs Sailing Club in Walmer, Deal, Kent, has spent many years navigating the waters of the English Channel, attending Cowes week for many years and carrying out many cross channel crossings he has a wealth of experience and knowledge. He runs the RYA/MCA Marine VHF Short Range Certificate courses for local organisations, promoting the confident use of today's modern Digital Selective Calling VHF radios.
Chris continues to enjoy all types of boating, being a keen dinghy sailor, powerboater and commercial skipper.
